After the entire yarmy is unspooled, the ever stubborn General Berry is stuck with two inexperienced soldiers as a last ditch effort to finally defeat the terrifying felis-catus (domesticated cat). Only by learning to trust each other and working together will the three be able to defeat their sworn enemy.
Premiered alongside 4 other student films at the University of Colorado Denver: Colorado Arts and Media BFA Showcase May 2026.
Concept art/turnaround I worked on for General Berry. Original concept created by Rianne Gonzalez.
I was responsible for the design, model, and groom of the antagonist: Barthalamew the cat, originally created and concepted by Rianne Gonzalez. One of the main things I focused on when creating his design was how the viewers perceived him. I wanted them to see what the yarnball soldiers saw, a dark and looming enemy.
He was inspired by the Oriental Shorthair breed of cat for their lengthy legs, massive ears, and general otherworldliness look when it comes to cat breeds.
As a team we also wanted him to be a looming shadow, hence the black coat. Black cats are generally seen as a sign of bad luck, making black fur the perfect color to give him.
Barthalamew went through a couple different phases before we ultimately decided on adding a groom to him for the final product.
Groom made through Maya's XGen.
Collar and chair asset modeled by me as well.
2D painted drawings for picture frames and propaganda posters.
